After weeks of not knowing why her thyroid level was climbing....bloodwork, ultrasound of thyroid, etc., I was sent to Dr. Strauss from my usual vet, and Dr. Strauss found the thyroid tissue and tumor in Ellie's chest. Thus making it ectopic--I'm not a dr, but I believe that is the reason it is called ectopic---it is quite rare from what I was told.
what I didn't mention yet, was that I lost my 10 year old Yorkie last November. He passed away suddenly-within 3 hours of going to the vet---from a collapsed trachea. he had no symptoms prior to the sudden collapse. I will never get over it. I struggle each day with the loss. Devastating...and now this.
I am a wreck.
