If it is just the rabies and you aren't worried about him getting the disease because it is extremely unlikely on city streets, then sure if he is up to it. Shots don't work that fast though, so he would most likely still be considered unprotected. I would wait 1-2 weeks after giving the last round of DHP to go out of the yard.
