You say this in your post.

Where did you get this information? This is simply not true from everything I've read on the subject. I think you might be confusing chlorine gas, with chlorine.
I do agree with you on the sugar in carrots, but even regular carrots contain lots of sugar, and for those of us with sugar regulating problems they are not a good choice. We use frozen green beans instead of carrots.
