Any suggestions with the loud noise made by fireworks. Zeke is just beside himself from the first loud, sharp crack the days leading up to the 4th and for the next day or two as the "yahoo's" finish firing off their illegal stashes. If we are outside walking he is ok until he hears the first loud close by pop then does an about face and really pulls on the harness going home. Back inside the house he can not find a place "safe enough". Our guess(es) are that someone shot fireworks off right next to him before we got him a year old. Could be why he wandered off. Also, he can get upset a little when there is a good loud Florida summer time afternoon lightning storm with sharp loud cracks of thunder. I have tried the calm, reassuring verbals, treats really didn't worked that well. Same problem around Labor Day, New Year's Eve and when the city FD goes around town with the blaring the holiday music and decked out for "Santa".
