At grooming school today, I did this yorkie, whom was super matted from head to toe. This Yorkie actually belonged to a worker's cousin. I would be ashamed if I were them. His nails were so long that a few curled and were slanted to the side. I believe due to the nails, his paws were so tender to the touch. Every time I got near it he would try to bite me. Original request was to leave 1/4" hair on body, but it was way too matted, so I had to go down even shorter. I'm pretty sure he is feeling much better after his haircut. I really wanted to shave him down til' he looked like a chihuahua, but we gave him a schnauzer face. Almost couldn't due to the mats, but my instructor help clipped most of them out. I will post pictures up soon.
How can anyone who has family/relative in grooming industry let their dog get to that point? I would be ashamed if I were her.
