The school I attended was only 5 weeks long but we got to work on dogs the 2nd day & had an average of 3-4 dogs per day while in school. It was totally hands on & it worked for me. They also provided a day out on a mobile van.
I know some adult schools offer classes, but it involves alot of studying & learning through books (totally not for me). The down side, courses are couple months long.

My goal is to eventually open my own pet spa after I gain more experience. I was very fortunate to get hired right out of school, which was a huge determining factor for my boss who hired me. They liked the idea that I went to grooming school.
I think working under an apprenticeship is excellent, it's hands on & you get to learn from an experienced groomer. But I don't know where you'll get your certificate.

My boss had a goal of $15,000 this past month (May) & he informed me that they had the best month yet! He has 3 groomers in his payroll. We also have the advantage of 'good' regions: W. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, ect to name a few. Location, location, location.
what grooming school did you go to? i live in los angeles and want to learn how to groom dogs. would this be something i could do part time? i have a full time job.
