I do understand that you are under the impression that Earl
belongs to you. However, I do believe that you are mistaken.
Yes, you were kind enough to share the hunka hunka burnin' love but I did want him all to myself. You have seen him, really, do you want to share him?!?!?!?! So really that is not stingy, just common sense really.
We most certainly can remain BFF's even if you are a bit mistaken on who Earl belongs to.
