Anyway, if Roxy is on a great diet already then a change in food probably won't help. Have you tried adding missing link to her food? Maybe flax seed oil or fish oil supplements.
As far as treating the hair from the outside, how short is it when it breaks off? I would think keeping her in a puppy cut would probably be best and using great moisturizing hair products, maybe even oil treatments.
I'm really glad that Roxy survived the poison, what was it that happened? | We live in a townhouse where we are all able to have our own gardens and have our own yard and patio, they are very nice. I live next to an older couple and they were feeding the birds in their yard on the ground, well they started getting rodents and since it was in their yard they were scared they would get in the house, so they put Decon out in a dish and I dont know exactly how Roxie got it (she is always on her leash) but if the birds were eating it and she got it that way or if while I was talking with them she got into it. It was one of the worst experiences ever! Roxie was violently sick and started exploding blood, it was the worst thing ever! We took her to our vet on emergency and she was able to make it through the night- she ended up staying for 5 nights. When they do get posioned there is very little they could do- put her on an iv for fluids and vitamin K to push out the posion. She was eating and still drinking and thats why they think she made it. She was on prescription food for 3 months and has been fine since, but her hair has just been dry and only get to about 4-5 inches before breaking. Not like our neighbors did enough they didnt even help at all with the bill!
