Hmmmmm well it's been 5 years since he was a puppy so I'm guessing a little bit here but I THINK it was about 2 weeks that he was COMPLETELY 100% trained on them. However, he caught on real quick. Yorkies are so smart! If you give them the credit they deserve, they will pick up on anything you try to teach them very quickly. I would hold him and carry him around or keep him confined to the couch with me and then every time I would set him on the floor to play or do ANY type of physical activity (or even to eat) I would put him on the pad and say "duties". Sometime I would let him play but with VERY limited space. Every 5 or 10 min. I would put him back on the pad and say "duties". I don't know if that was the right way to do it, but that's how I trained Bailey... He did have some mistakes, but after about 2 weeks he had it down pat. Because he's a male he misses, which is why i'm now trying to switch him over to the Rascal dog. We'll see how this goes...
