The little green machine is good for sucking up the stains but the Nature's Miracle is an enzyme cleaner which will clean it up well enough so that they don't smell it again and go in the same spot. I would think maybe you'd use the machine to suck up any liquid and then use the cleaner to neutralize the spot. I use the cleaner inside Tatum's kennel too to freshen it up and wipe it down from time to time.
