I think you did really good. One thing that I liked to have because mine were pretty messy as pups was puppy wipes or baby wipes so you can wipe them down after eating or when they get messy. Or you could just use a mild dog shampoo and warm wet washcloth.
I also liked to have some Bene-bac on hand. It really helps with loose stools from stress and with switching foods
