I'm thinking of a nice rental house on a beach or a lake or within walking distance of one, and it has to allow dogs. I want it to be quiet, calm, and a dog friendly city. A place with hiking trails and dog parks is a bonus too! Maybe Florida? We go to Portland a lot so probably not their either.

Hi Vanessa,
Alexandria, Virginia where the YT meetup is going to be held is a very friendly dog city. Although it is not on the ocean, it is on the Potamic River and there are Canine Cruises on Thursday nights.
Florida has some dog friendly citys and there are beaches where dogs are welcome.
Hope you have a wonderful time traveling :-) and I hope you get to take the furkids with you as well.
