I'm praying the pills the vet gave clears this up and he doesn't get worse or have something more serious, but I am also concerned with the food issue and making sure he is getting enough, so is mixing yogurt/cottage cheese in with kibble ok?? Thanks for any input. |
Were you able to see the vet then? It sounds like you did...what was the diagnosis? What pills are you giving?
Cottage cheese and yogurt are okay to give to dogs, unless it causes diarrhea. If you think this is contributing to his diarrhea, then I wouldn't give it. Otherwise, I would give it - so that he gets enough food. Was he eating okay at the breeder's?
Another easily digestible option (and will give carbs/energy) is to make him some mashed potatoes and mix those in w/ his food. Simple carbs can be helpful for sick dogs. To make it easy, you buy the canned/sliced white potatoes and micro them, then mash.
