Walmart sells a product called "Bag Balm" -- it used to come in a little tin. I have not bought it in a long time so not sure now. But it works wonders on things like this. I actually used it on my own cracked heels when I was having a severe dry skin problem.
If they are bleeding or appear to be causing pain, I would have a trip in to the vet just to make sure there is not infection or a fungal problem.
But if not bleeding, and not causing any limping or pain, then just applying the Bag Balm or one of the many products made for dog paws (PawButter, Paw Balm, etc) should help. I would look to th ecause. Could it be that you need to add some essential fats? How about adding a little Salmon Oil to the food? That might be just the ticket to heal from the inside out. |
