My Shih Tzu and Yorkie are great companions. My Shih Tzu is five years older than my Yorkie. She was use to being the only dog getting all the love and attention. When I adopted Josh last year, my Shih Tzu was not thrilled. Josh wanted to play with her, and he followed her around the house. She would run away from him or try to lie in my lap. He eventually wore her down, and she started playing with him. Now they are best friends. I am sorry I cannot give you good advice about how to introduce your new dog to your other dog. I am sure somebody on this forum can help you with that question. My situation was different from yours, so they will probably be best friends on day one.
