Don't know if it's the language difference, but when you say biscuits do you mean kibble or also known as dry dog food? If I give Joey to much meat he will ignore his kibble, so now I just give him a tiny shed as a treat. Kibble has many things in it besides protein that they need. If by biscuits you mean what Americans call biscuits, a flour and fat dough mixture with baking powder, I wouldn't give him any of those. I think your husband is correct, he will eat when he's hungry.

I would leave it 12 hours and then put out fresh. Some people take it away after an hour or even less, and don't give any new for 12 hours.
