U weren't wrong at all. It is actually very common that people try to run over small dogs and cats on purpose. Someone ran over and killed my boyfriend's mom's poodle on purpose with his truck. If I were you I wouldn't have even bothered talking with the children, I would have talked to the parents, and then they would know how serious you were. I hate stupid people like that.
