I just started using Petrodex (chicken flavour ... YUCK!) and my girl loves it. She thinks it's some great treat!
It comes with a long-handled tooth brush with a big brush on one side and a small one on the other side. It also comes with a finger brush. That's the one I use. I'm too paranoid with the long-handled brush. Since my pup wriggles, I'm afraid I'll slip and accidentally shove it down her throat. The finger brush allows for much more control.
Whatever toothpaste you use, it's recommended to put a tiny bit on your finger, let them try it out and then put it on the toothbrush and begin brushing. It's best to praise them during the whole brushing, too. The only problem I have with mine is that her little tongue gets in the way because she's always trying to lick the toothpaste off!
As far as CT, I have no experience with that. Sorry!
