Also if the food you are feeding your big dog is not that high quality may have something to do with it. What are you feeding your yorkie? I think you may have to find out the reason why your yorkie is doing it in the first place instead of just trying to get the poop to taste gross(er) so she won't do it anymore. Are either of the dogs getting table scraps or people food?

Also maybe you could let your dogs in the garden one at a time and clean up before the other goes out?
You have a few good points to your post and I would like to further elaberate on your thoughts. First, I would agree with the type of food that you are currently feeding. You need to feed a high quality food which will help a great deal with this problem. If a lot of grains are in the food that you feed the poop will come out being a tasty loaf of bread. The dogs digestive system cannot break down the wheat and corn so it basically is being eliminated undigested. In addition, other have had great success with pineapple. But for your case, you would need to feed the pineapple to the GSD instead of the poop eater. You can also try canned pumpkin in the food which will also help. This is a very cheap way of fixing your problem but I would make sure that you check into the fillers in the food. Many times once the food is changed to a higher quality the gross behavior will then stop.
