Toto lost her beloved "fwiend" .... ... and two families are devistated. Some of you may remember my posting about Toto's giant "big bwack wab fwiend" Kena. She had gotten so old and was in so much pain that her parents had to make the loving decision to let her go. Even though you know that it's time, nonetheless, the decision always breaks your heart. Kena, although she was much larger than Toto, was such a wonderful friend to Toto and looked after her like a "mama hen".
Kena was spoiled and pampered by our friends much like we spoil our Yorkies. They traveled extensively and Kena was their constant companion. These last few months, we all knew we didn't have a lot of time left with her. They tried everything there is out there in the veterinary world to improve her quality of life, but there was just nothing more that could be done to make her comfortable. Every time we went to visit and even though it was a slow painful struggle for her, she would always manage to hobble out to us to give kisses and greet us and snuggle Toto with her great big nose. We dread our next trip there, knowing we won't have that precious greeting and the feel of her sweet kisses. Rest In Peace, gentle giant, you were loved and will be missed.
