I had Roxie's done when she was spayed. She really didn't seem to notice it. It's just like when humans permanent teeth come in and baby tooth is still there. It's really not painful to get that baby tooth out. After hers were done she ate her food as normal. It all just sounds worse than it is. I think having the permanent teeth there makes it so there is no unprotected part of the gum. They heal so fast. For me I wouldn't want to wait too long. Food and stuff gets caught between there and yorkies are already prone to tooth decay problems. I think it would be uncomfortable trying to eat with all that food getting packed imbetween there.
