I would think that you'll need a small kibble size for such a small baby. I've never used Merrick but have used Wellness (Core). Those kibbles are too big for such a little one. I feed all my dogs Nature's Logic. My smallest baby is 2 1/2 pounds and she eats it just fine. It's about the size of an aspirin, just a little thicker.
