No I have no intention of breeding, lol. I was a breeder og Golden Retrievers for years and years. I was wondering really why breeders would breed before they get a final OFA which isn't until they are 24 months. Preliminary's don't count. Growth plates are open until then. I had 2 Goldens where preliminary's at a year showed good. By 24 months one was fair and the other borderline. So I know for a fact the bones do change.
I myself would not purchase a pure bred unless both parents were two yrs old and all clearences final. It's too scary.
Why would someone breed before 2 years? I guess I just don;t know the Yorkie breed. Are breeds different with the OFA. Are Yorkies able to clear under 24 months?
