There are several International Biewer Clubs following Germanys standard. And it's not the BTCA standard. This standard calls for a tri colored head white/Tan black or white /tan blue
( no other head colorations)
Only one Club calls it a " Biewer Terrier" and follows it's own standard *BTCA*........even though they all have the same lines we have.
As for everyone following the same standard......... um we are, with the acception of the "Biewer Terrier Club ( btca) |
You're right about the breed being referred to as Biewer, just as the Yorkshire Terrier is referred to as a Yorkie, and the Coton De Tulear is referred to as a Coton and so on.
What standard are you using now? Before you clearly stated that you were using the standard written by 2 Miki breeders. There is only one club in Germany, one club in USA and one show venue that is using that standard. UM?? What other club in Germany uses it.
You are right about only one club in America calling it a Biewer Terrier and that is the club that has proven that the Biewer terrier is a distinct breed of it's own. It is also the only club that has Mrs. Biewers support and membership. It is also the only club that is a member of the UCI.

You guys are welcome to do what you want, all we ask is that you be honest when educating people about the breed. Opinions are fine, but present them as such.
