 Morning Throw Up
About 2 weeks ago, my 1 year old Biewer woke me about 4 am retching. He vomited some yellowish bile then went back to sleep. Later ate his complete breakfast and all was fine. Two days later he repeated the process and then almost daily since then. Always around 3 or 4 in the morning. I took his stool to the vet to check for parasites and it was negative. A little research led me to believe that he was simply not getting enough food later in the evening. I have found that if I feed him really late, like 11pm he is fine. Also, one morning I got up and fed him at 4 before he got sick and he was fine. But, I can't keep doing this. If I feed him late, he needs to get up to poop in the wee hours and if I don't feed him then he needs to get up to retch. I can't win!
I am going to take him for blood work now to make sure his liver/pancreas are processing correctly, but wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. |
