Keep in mind that sometimes the lowest priced dog is not the best deal. You may wind up with enormous vet bills and heartache. If you are going to rescue one in need, then that is comendable! While it is a great service to the puppy, you may wind up spending a lot more. Make that choice for the sake of the pup and not thinking it will save money.

I have found from experience that going to a good breeder, paying a little more upfront can save you a lot in the long run. Not only that, but you will get the breed standard which is probably what attracted you to the Yorkie breed in the first place. I want a yorkie that will look like the breed standard, not just to have breeding in mind, but because that is the "look" Ifell in love with.

I never realized there was such a drastic range of "looks" being sold as Yorkies. All puppies look cute and beg to be taken home. If you decide to buy one that is not a rescue, look at the parents, look at the history, research the breeder, look at the environment and take your own measure of the way they treat the pups. It is a big decision and one you want to be sure of. Good luck in your quest!
