I have an African Grey and my daughter has a Macaw. The Macaw is more loving and will let anyone hold him. My grey is mostly a one person bird, but sometimes will let others pet him. He invites you to pet him by lowering his head and says "come on". If you take your eyes off him while you are petting him, he will bite you and then laugh. He is 5 years old and has a big vocabularly. One of the first things he learned was to bark like a dog at about 7 months. He also calls the dogs and teases them. |
