I too have a westie and she is very very smart like your Duffy. She is the alpha in oour pack and she will not tolerate violence. She gets after the standard poodle if he growls at one of the yorkies even. She lets them all know whose boss but if she knows you love something then she accepts it and loves it too. I bet Duffy will come around. He is still young and my westie was 4 years old when we got the yorkies so she still plays with them but she is pretty gentle.
