yea, ten hours is a long time for a little puppy. I would also worry about her going that long without someone there to make sure she's eating.
We have a local service that will come in several times a day to feed and walk puppies and older dogs too. It's very reasonably priced. Your groomer or vet could recommend someone.
I REALLY think this would be your best bet. To be honest, the mess is the least of your concerns. If you continue this routine, it really could lead to much more serious behavior issues.
