My Pommie just had both knees done at K-State Vet Teaching Hospital in Manhattan, KS. Doing both knees cost around $1,600. If both knees need to be done it is better to have it done at the same time. Recuperating time is from 6-8 wks....almost always 8 wks. Add another 3 wks. of restricted activity. If you do each knee separately it would be at least 16 wks. of down time and 6 more wks. of restricted activity. The vets said that was not reasonable. We are now into our 10th wk. and Snowboy is doing excellent. Still limiting his activity, though for another 2 wks. I've been very strict and vigilant. It would such a waste of money to be careless and give in to the whines and complaints.
