It would go like this: someone would ask to go out, he'd open the door (we have a fenced yard) furbutts would run outside. Eventually, furbutts would do their business and return, dh would give them a treat.
This all stopped when we realized furbutts were now asking to go out, racing out and right back to the door for the treat. He was heartbroken, but had to stop giving them treats for coming back inside.
Thank goodness, they are back to doing their business.
