I've heard that book is pretty good. I'll have to give it a go. Yeah, who cares what other physicists think of him as long as it's simple enough for me to understand!
As far as the series, I've never heard of it, but I'll definitely have to look that up on Amazon.
I really like Michio Kaku's books. He does a lot of the theoretical physics stuff as well and he simplifies things wonderfully with great, simple examples and anecdotes.
