I have a very successful Dobe/Yorkie household but that does not come without rules.

My Dobe was raised by Yorkies from the day he came home. They dont hesitate to put him in line, even now.

There are several factors you need to take into consideration before making a decision on getting a Dobe. They are VERY different from Yorkies and need LOTS of physical exercise as well as mental exercise every day. Sometimes its a lot more than people can handle.

I run a Bay Area group called Dobermans United Dobermans United and a member of the DPCNC and DPCA. Feel free to contact me offline for more info on the breed or how my clan interacts.

If you do decide on a Dobe you need to make sure that you buy from a reputable breeder.

Dont get me wrong, Dobes are WONDERFUL dogs and I cannot imagine my life without one (or 2) but they are not meant for everyone.
