If it were me I wouldn't unless I absolutely had to. It would be stressful on new Mom and baby. Is there no one that can check on them periodically while you are gone? An hour isn't very far, maybe you could come back and check on them. Are you planning on staying overnight? Maybe a friend could help out. Good luck with your decision
