Is she still teething? If yes, then it's probably from that...
I don't brush, I use bully sticks and other types of chews/bones to keep teeth clean. Marcel is 2.5 yrs old and I just had him in and the vet was amazed by his teeth.
That said, I do think brushing is great if you can find a way to do it.
