We do dentals on an as needed basis.
Ellie's teeth are fine. She hasn't had a dental since 11/07.
She will not have another one until 1) she is put out for something else or 2) she needs one. Tartar can form under the gum line but if everything visable looks okay, there may be no need to risk anesthesia. Yearly or twice yearly cleanings are fine if your dog's teeth are bad and/or you can't brush them but they are not necessary for every dog.
