When Zacchie was tiny, and we were dealing with a lot of congestion, our vet told me that a simple generic saline nose spray was fine, but I had to suction his nose with a baby aspirator after it.
I wouldn't imagine he has a cleft if he's this old, and you have only had congestion. If he did, trust me, you'd know it.
But if he has an unusually small nose or nasal passage, even the tiniest bit of congestion could clog him up.
Does he snore? I'm just wondering if he breathes through his nose at all.
