I agree with all that ^^^
But what's up with this that we are still saying it in 2009? We have a UK campaing "A dog is for life, not just for Christmas" (you may have this same one elsewhere), it's been around since I was a child (20+ years)....yet still I go to the pet store and a rescue is full to the brim with unwanted dogs, rattling collection boxes. Each month I donate to rescues and charities that provide medical care for needy animals...
I took having dogs so seriously, that mine travelled with me to Holland, South Africa and back through Europe. When I left South Africa, it cost more than 2 months (average) wages to board, prepare and ship her...the kennels thought I was crazy! But I would never dream of leaving her, she went into quarantine and I spent hours each day (most days) visiting her.
But how can people do it? |
