My Ben and Sadie held very true to the double at 12 weeks rule, actually they were both just a tad under the doubled weight. I think part of that is I like to pick the roly poly puppies and when they carry extra baby weight, it may not all double. My sister just came to visit and she has one of Ben & Sadie's first litter. She is a 3 pound adult. A friend of mine has another female from the same litter and she is 5 pounds. They were both almost the same weight within an ounce or two at 12 weeks. So, it can vary.

Your puppy should JUST NOW be ready to go to a new home at 12 weeks/3 months. How early did you get your pup that you thought it might grow to be 5 pounds, but it is 6 pounds at 3 months?
