The surgery was expensive because of the type of break (right lateral condyle) and her small size. She needed a pin and screw placed. The screw rejected after 6 weeks and had to be removed. She had to go to Canada West Veterinary Hospital and Critical Care. Reason being that my vet wasn't comfortable performing the surgery herself. Even the specialist said that it was really hard to work on Missy because her bones are just so tiny. He described it as being like "microscopic surgery". He warned me that the results may not be perfect because her bones were just soooo small in comparison to his fingers. IT was a difficult surgery. He did a great job though. She's healed perfectly.
Tinksmum - This is now about 4 months post-op. She's been zippin' around like this since the moment she was allowed free reign.
I just love the way their fur flips and flops around when they run. We nicknamed her "Flop Top Mop Top". It's so adorable. Yorkies are THE BEST!
Thanks for taking a peek!
