Puppies naturally nip and you need to stop them from doing it from the get go. I know the rule of thumb is 12 weeks but I got Gracie at 8 weeks and she is a wonderful pup and very well adjusted. However, she has a big sis who thinks she's Gracie's mom and protector. Maybe that made a difference....who knows. As others have posted about the registration many breeders will give you the registration papers until you have the pup spayed, but they should be able to show you the form that you will receive when that happens.
