I don't believe the behavior can't be changed. Five years old is still fairly young. If he could be given to a STRONG "pack leader" who would be able to lead him properly, I'm sure he could get better. It just takes time and patience, along with discipline and exercise. Guarantee you with just an hour long walk a day, things could improve greatly and he's probably not being corrected for his barking and snapping.

I know...i do think his behavior can still be changed. They just need experience with that...overall he seems like a sweet dog. He is hyper and energetic but not a crazy attack dog...i think he just acts like that around her but i think he can outgrow it.
