A couple months ago we noticed that our five year old, spayed yorkie, Martini, had a bloated belly and was refusing her food. She was also wheezing and snoring more than usual. It has been discovered that she has a congestive heart. After being on a water pill for less than a week her belly bloat was gone. She had gained half a pound of fluid in less than a week! She is also on a heart pill, enacard. I would probably ask for a chest x-ray or seek a second opinion. Martini is friskier now, too. She has always 'dripped' urine while walking and is on two meds to help control that but now the water pill makes her drink more which also makes her pee more. She doesn't make it to her pee pee pad a lot of the time now either. I'm considering trying the doggie diapers, but I'm afraid she may become confused????? I just know that I am tired of mopping the floors ten or more times a day!
