I get those emails about everything. I have sold a ton of stuff on Craigslist and rehomed a couple of horses as well, and it's always a sob story. Not to sound cold, but I am not going to give a horse to someone who just lost their job and doesn't know if they can make their next house payment. I am very reasonable when it comes to bartering items, as I do understand that the economy isn't in the best shape right now, and MI has the worst of all the states, but there are some people that just expect a handout, and those are the same people that are pulling this economy down. I have even had someone email me claiming that they were a very sick little teenage girl (which I guess could have been, but still) saying that she was so sick and stuck home all the time and needed a horse. If there weren't so many scammers out there I might have looked into it more, but I have seen just about everything.
