Sad to say but unfortunately there are people out there that truley are scared to death of dogs and sometimes not just dogs but all animals. My son has a friend who grew up in a house with no pets at all. We've always respected his phobia and put our animals up when he comes over. I don't want him to not trust us or feel comfortable in our house. I remember when he came over after we had first got Roxie. She ran up to him to greet him and he was dancing all over the place and totally freaked out. He would never hurt her on purpose but his phobia is real and we picked her up immediately worried he'd step on her. You could see the sheer terror in his face. It seems really over the top and silly to us dog lovers but to those who have a fear it's really quite scarey. It's just lack of knowledge about animals or something bad happened to them in the past. If only there was something we could do to turn them into dog lovers too!!
