We have a very large lap pool on the side of our home that goes to the front yard. We swim lots! Last year I put Mia on the step and showed her how to get out. This year she went in the pool on a boogie board and then would jump off the board and swim to the steps. I slowly moved the boggie board farther from the steps and she would swim more and more. Now after a month she will take her ball, drop it in, bark at it and then swim in to get it.
She must of jumped in 4 times today for a dip! I don't take her outside unless I am there with her. I have a water dog for sure!! She loves the pool. If you have a built in pool they need to know how to get out of it. |
