I don't know how little your guy is, but if the area you are moving to has hawks, then you really can't leave them outside unattended. My brother lives in Sacramento on a golf course and his neighbor has lost 3 Yorkies to hawks. (I know, I asked the same question... why does he keep getting another Yorkie???) If you need to leave them out, then you are going to have to devise some sort of protected area with a cover.
