This sounds just like our house. I have a 9 week old yorkie and a 7 month old boxer, both females. They love each other, but I'm always telling Rayna "be easy, no paws, don't lay on Daisy." I have her now to where she will lay down to play so they are on more equal terms and Daisy won't get stepped on. I believe Daisy thinks she is a boxer.
