Thanks, guys! I love doing stuff like that...just never felt comfortable selling stuff I made.
Great response already when I woke up this morning! I feel like Sally Field when she won that statue (Emmy? Oscar?) and her speech went something like this..."They like me. They really like me!" LOL I've never been a good judge of my own "creations" because I always like what I make but realize that I laugh at my own jokes, too.
However, I've already seen one correction I need to make to be fair! I should have made 10 cards so I'll be adding one whenever the creative muse strikes. (The muse is very sleepy this morning...that Smilebox was at least the third one I tried to make since they kept cutting off punch lines of the cards.)
Anyway, I had an order for all the cards and that's just not reasonable at $2 each so I'll sell all 9 plus one to be determined for $10. That's enough to cover the shipping. I really do just want to cover costs and nothing else because I don't want a "business" at this stage in my life. (Guess I didn't think the cost out well enough or didn't have enough confidence in the end product. It's the shipping that is a killer when you mail out one or two.)
The tenth one is still somewhere in the recesses of my mind and some of the newer ones are still on order but they will be in and shipped way before the next GE. Shoot, I may even think up more than one more if the mood hits! (I think it's my newest attempt at avoiding housework.)
Thanks, again, for the nice comments. My husband has always told me I think like a Hallmark card...LOL (I used to do bulletin boards for others up and down my hallway. It was one of my favorite surprises to do for a colleague! Almost got in trouble for one of my favorite that I did for a junior high English teacher. It wasn't the slogan "Plug into Punctuation" ... it was the fact that I used the actual cord from the coffee urn in the teachers' lounge...LOL Well, in my defense, it was the middle of the summer and very spur of the moment. I sorta forgot to return it before it was needed but I eventually brought an old extension cord from home...LOL I didn't see the emergency but then I don't drink coffee. And, by the way, no coffee urn cords were hurt in the construction of the bulletin board!) |
