We did the same thing on the fence when we got Cali Girl. Our backyard was so unlevel. There were some places that she could easily crawl out under, then there were places they have to dig out the ground, so the fence would be level straight across. We used a plastic coated wire, that had rectangles. I cut sections pieces off for what I needed to place in to fill up gaps. I stapled it to the bottom of the wood fence and the long straight pieces were staked into the ground. It works perfect.
